Heated Gloves - Battery Powered Heated Gloves

Our heated gloves are constructed from water resist material and lined with thinsulate, thinsulate is a registered trade mark of 3m and is a very lightweight and thin (Hence the name) thermal insulation.

Many suppliers quote that the gloves are manufactured by 3m, because of this 3m have been contacted by many people trying to buy the gloves, we have been contacted by 3m and have an agreement where they will direct you to us, it is up to you but it may be an idea to save yourself a phone call and buy through us now.

Our Heated gloves are available in sizes small and medium, both sizes are very roomy so if you are in any doubt about the size I suggest you go for the smallest.

These gloves have the heated element across the top of your hand and may in some instances help to reduce instances or the symptoms of Raynaud's Syndrome, we have spoken to many sufferers to determine if the heating element has helped them but different cases have had different results, the main use for sufferers of Raynaud's is the fact that the thinsulate material can protect their fingers from the cold but due to the poor circulation through the blood vessels the warmed blood may have difficulty reaching the affected area.

Please note some suppliers say their gloves are great for Raynaud's sufferers which in some cases is true, they are more than likely selling the same gloves that we are selling but they may not have done the research that we have to bring you the facts.

We did have a great story from a customers who was a window cleaner, he was a Raynaud's sufferer and for obvious reason this was affecting his job in the winter months, he purchased a pair of our heated gloves and wore a pair of waterproof gloves on top, although it was not a perfect solution it allowed him to maintain an income through his chosen career through the winter.

I use a pair of heated gloves I have had them for a few years now, although when I first got them I fitted the batteries I found them too warm and spent the rest of the time without batteries, my conclusion is that they are a comfortable pair of gloves and will keep your hands nice and warm without batteries but for extended time outside and extreme cold the heating element offers a helping hand in keeping you warm.

These are one of our most popular ranges in the winter months, we have very few returns the main reason for returns is for them being too large.

Cruelty Free Pest Control

Because I am a genuine animal lover we do not sell pest control products that harm animals, whether its a polar bear an ant or an elephant they all have a place on our planet.

It would be fitting to sell pest control products to animals for use on humans as they cause so much more damage and suffering than any animal.

Nevertheless we need to live in a world with insects rodents arachnids etc and they are not going anywhere, we have got them for good, so our range of products is designed to keep them outside of our claimed boundaries.

Our range of indoor ultrasonic pest control products are designed to make life in our building less comfortable for insects and rodents by emitting a sound inaudible to human beings but unpleasant for the animal, it does not cause it any harm, maybe a headache! it finds it uncomfortable so goes next door.

Our range of outside ultrasonic pest control products are designed to keep a whole range of animals at bay, including but not limited to Dogs, cats, badgers and Foxes these can make a mess of your garden and make an unsafe place for your children to play, this works on the same principle of emitting an ultrasonic sound that is inaudible to most humans but very uncomfortable to the offending animals.

Our range of internal electromagnetic pest control products work by sending an electrical signal around the house wiring, the signal is of insignificant voltage to cause any harm to electrical equipment and is filtered out buy the smoothing capacitors of all electronic equipment power supplies, because it works where the wiring goes it can be effective throughout your whole house, we recommend you purchase one for each floor to ensure a strong signal throughout.

Now did I say our pest control products don't harm the animal, um well, err perhaps there is this one exception, our Biological range of pest control products do kill the pest, I am sorry to say that slugs, vine weevil, chafer grubs and leather jackets are killed by these products. Now I have come clean the reason we sell these products is because these products are ecologically sound, they are nematodes that are found in the ground already and do not harm any other animals.

Our slug control nematode can be watered into your garden, when they kill the slug the slug dies underground normally, if one dies on the surface and is eaten by a hedgehog or a child the hedgehog will live to eat more slugs, the child will not want to eat another slug, I am not sure but I don't reckon they will taste that nice raw.
If we don't sell these products the gardener will buy slug pellets, these are highly toxic, if the slug is eaten by a hedgehog or child they are going to be very ill and a good possibility they will die. I will write a post about slug pellets at a later date.
So sorry slugs its the lesser of two evils.
The same goes to the other nematode products, detailed information on each will follow.

Aquamag and Aquamag plus limescale removers and preventers

Introducing Aquamag limescale reducing and prevention products.

The principle behind the Aquamag products is to create a strong magnetic field which polarises the water molecules and some how miraculously preventing the dissolved limescale from sticking to the pipes, the technical spiel from the importer is "Produces an electronic polarising signal that 'ionises' the hard water ions, preventing them adhering to the inside of your pipe-work, clearing old limescale and preventing new limescale from forming".

The Aquamag products have been one of our best sellers for many years now, initially we sold them in 15mm 20mm and the Aquamag plus which can fit any size pipe.

The Aquamag 20mm and 15mm were fixed magnets so could be used anywhere unfortunately these were discontinued a while ago, the 20mm a long time ago and the 15mm more recently the 20 mm was not a great problem as we received relatively fewer orders compared to the 15mm, the 15mm was quite a problem as we sold many of these and they were quit a bit cheaper than the Aquamag plus.

The Aquamag plus is not as convenient because it needs a power outlet to enable it to work, I can assume it is more powerful because it uses the principle of an electromagnet, the core of the magnet being the pipe and the water itself so directing the majority of the magnetic field into the water.

Now as you will know or will find out I do not take for granted what people say, If a sales man tells me something I listen and take in what I am told but I do not make a decision only on his word, however I have had so many good reports from customers who have bought the Aquamag or the Aquamag plus that I am inclined to believed it works.

I will be encouraging people who tell me over the phone how well it works to leave a comment here so you can see for yourself the success stories associated with this product.

If you have used one and find it useful please let us know and we will share your experiences with others who may be interested in purchasing.

From panic alarm to multi products store

Marked For Life Limited started trading as a Limited Company on the 20th June 2000.

My idea was to introduce a centralised registration database for use in security marking household equipment, this idea came about when I moved house and all the equipment I had was marked with the postcode of our old address.

I was working full time as a Compaq accredited (and IBM but I don't like to mention that) server engineer and this register was run in my spare time.

I had one of the IT guys at one of my customers build me a database and I started to promote it, after a month or two I had a total of 2 people on the database, me and my brother, this was a disaster so far but I never gave up and started to look around, I thought that giving a free security marking pen would encourage more customers, I found a supplier who sold them so I continued to promote my business and got them printed with the company name and a free phone number, again no response, after all this is a thing that people want after they have been burgled and rarely before.

I was selling pens on their own and people were buying so I thought I would expand on the security side and sold another product that the pen supplier was selling, panic alarms! they were a British panic alarm manufacturer, I built my own web site using Microsoft Frontpage and using an online shopping cart system I built my store front.

This was a great hit we were the only store selling a panic alarm selection on the internet that had our own store front, we were getting number 1 page positions on the Google search engine for everything we sold.

We decided to add more products and found a supplier for a dummy security camera, we added these to our website and they proved a great hit so we added the rest of the products supplied by the same supplier to our site, again we were getting front page hits for everything we added.

One thing that we added was pest control products, these were such a hit that sales for these quickly overtook our security products, I like animals and because these products worked with out harming the animal we had a lot of confidence in selling them and put them pride of place on our website.

I was a bit dubious about selling these to start with because they used ultrasonic sound I was not sure that they actually did what was said on the package being unable to test it myself, but after many sales and many good responses and repeat orders from satisfied customers they stayed at the top of our sales to this very day.

So we were getting good sales from our store, what happened to the security register, well in a word nothing, we could not make it a success, had I the knowledge to design a website to automate it it may have worked, It may show its face in the future but no plans at present.

We are constantly adding new products to our site and trying to keep most items cheaper than available anywhere else.

We still rank well on Google but unfortunately there are a lot of cheap imported panic alarms coming into the country, we still sell the panic alarm products from our initial supplier these are very high quality UK designed and built alarms, We also sell a range of alarms that are imported but are tested by Sold Secure and meet their stringent guidelines to be declared Sold Secure approved.

The supplier of these cheap imported alarms has damaged but not destroyed the industry, we can beat their prices with our quality assured panic alarms, you will not be sold a dud by us our alarms will not let you down when you need them.
